To the Accomplishment Coaching Class of 2015

February 6, 2014 by

From Saturday to Sunday, I worked for 25 hours at the first weekend of this year’s Accomplishment Coaching Coaches’ Training & Leadership Program in Washington, DC. I woke up before 7am on both days of the weekend and didn’t blink an eye because this program makes me SO SO ridiculously happy. I’m particularly happy because this year, I’m serving as a Mentor Coach and supporting the company in training other coaches and leaders. I get to do my work in the world, coach participants and actually train others in the work I love.

Driving home on Sunday night, I started crying. I realized how much this work has changed my life and how grateful I am to myself for taking a leap of faith. Personal development work, and specifically the type of ontological coaching taught by Accomplishment Coaching, has the ability to change the way you approach your entire life and thus, create drastically different results. My life is different today because of my coach, my teammates and my leaders. But first I had to say yes.

To the 24 of you lucky people starting the program this year, I have a few things to say:

  1. Be ridiculously grateful. Be ridiculously grateful you are in this room, in this class, in this moment. Be grateful you didn’t wait until next year — and this time, you listened to the urges of your heart, the tugs of your soul. Most of all, be thankful to yourself. You are the source of you being here and the most important thing you can ever do for yourself is show up.
  2. Practice having trust. Trust that everything is absolutely perfect. Trust that the leaders and teammates who are here working with you are perfect for you. This year in particular, trust that everything happens for a reason. You are here for your breakthroughs and for the breakthroughs of others. Trust that everything is happening on time and on purpose.
  3. Unlock your compassion. There will be so many times this year when your heart will break open. It will break open for your teammates, your leaders and eventually, for yourself. You will begin to see what others see when they look at you. There will be times when you want to run away because it feels like too much — but that’s how life is. The beauty of this program is that it recreates absolutely everything you’ve ever experienced, but gives you the opportunity to work through it in a more powerful way. Give yourself the gift of a second chance.
  4. Start thanking yourself. I have absolute faith you will be the source of change for so many lives. Your friends, family members, colleagues, spouses, partners, children, clients and everything in between will all change because of you. So I want to thank you now for the massive influence you have — and will have — on so many lives, so many generations because you decided to do life a little differently.

I also want to thank the leaders of our program: Mark, Tara, Michelle, Lacey and all the mentor coaches. I bow down to you in gratitude for everything you do. I realize how exhausted I am after this weekend and I know you give SO much more in service of changing lives and making a real, tangible difference in the world. I’m so grateful you are willing to give your time, energy and resources in service of such powerful work.

Finally, to the Universe, god, angels, whatever you believe in: I want to express my gratitude for your magical ability to bring everything together. I’ve noticed when someone tells you, “YES, I’m in!” from his or her heart, you automatically deliver. So thank you, Universe, for showing up. Thank you for teaching us the most powerful lessons of the heart. Thank you for making magic happen, amidst our doubts, questions, insecurities and everything else we let stand in our way. Thank you for hearing our prayers and requests and for knowing at the core, we simply want to be divine beings — made in your image — and to share that beauty and light with others.

This made my heart sparkle. This letter models all that your work represents. How lucky are we as teammates to be blessed by your gifts. God spend a little extra time on you for sure. I pray that you receive all of the riches you wish to create, especially love in every capacity. I am grateful for you in my life and in the lives of all those you touch direct and indirect. Your stone has been cast with such force; it will never stop skipping, your ripple will never stop dancing, your wake of power will never dissapate. You inspire us! We LOVE you!

Ahhh, very cool post! Thank you for the love, encouragement, and your presence. I am in the Chicago program. I am excited to see how the year unfolds not only for me, but for my fellow AC team members. Your accomplishments are a testament to what is possible when you trust and take the next step as it shows up. Thank you for your courage!

I just stumbled upon this pos from last year and was first struck by how BEAUTIFUL your picture is! Then as I read it, I realized you were talking about my class that JUST GRADUATED, which included your MOM. What an honor to see the work you started for yourself continue to make a difference in the world, and in your immediate family. Awesome! That speaks to the profound difference you made personally, that everyone around you saw and wanted for themselves. I really appreciate reading this almost a year later! I had no idea this existed, and to find it just days after my own graduation from the program, is truly a gift. Thank you!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Katie, I had no idea you had written this beautiful article. I am so GRATEFUL that Keshia shared this with our team. Your work is a GIFT to everyone you encounter and your accomplishments thus far have been so very amazing. Everyday with you brings new hope, increased understanding, unending love and just more greatness in this world. I regret not seeing these words of wisdom in the beginning of my AC year. Looking back over the past year, I now realize I came into the program completely raw and came out completely empowered! Although most of the time, I floundered and wished I had the “prerequisite” for the course, I now realize that where we start and where we end up is just where we are supposed to be. Katie, I thank you for the huge part you played in this area of my life, without you I would have never had the amazing breakthroughs and transformations that I had this past year. You are a BLESSING!
    I love you so much!
